Teela Laddu



TEELA LADDU is a traditional sweet made from  sesame seeds(til) and jaggery.its a popular treat during festivals like makar sankranti..its crafted by roasting sesame seeds and then cimbining them with jaggery,forming round bite sized laddus.These laddus boast a delightful blend of nutty sesame flavour and the natural sweetness of jaggery,making them a popular choice festival and special occations.


INGRIDIENTS:

-1 CUP SESAME SEEDS(TILL)

-1 CUP JAGGERY

-2 TABLESPOON GHEE

-1/2 CUP GROUNDNUTS


INSTRUCTIONS:

Wash the sesame seeds in water.Drain the water and spread the seeds on a clean kitchen towel for about 15-20 minutes.Roast them on a medium flame till they start popping and nice aroma comes out of them.Take them off heat.

Heat jaggery (the black coloured liquid jaggery.keep the heat on medium ,because jaggery gets burnt very easily.take a little water on a plate and add a deop of jaggery in it.The jaggery should sit like a drop without getting diluted.That shows its desired consistency.

now add the sesame seeds and roasted peanuts,mix well.take them of the heat,add the cardomom powder,mix again.

Take a big spoonfull of the mixture ,apply some ghee to your palms and make  small balls of the mixture.make sure to make laddus when the mixture is hot otherwise you cannot make laddus when it is cool.if the mixure cools again heat it again it melts and repeat the procedure.
