Dal wada(chattambade)

Dal wada, Is a popular Indian snack made of chana dal mixed with some spices and deep fried until crispy. It is served with coconut chutney. 
Dal wada is a popular street food and snack item in India, often served hot and fresh from roadside stalls or tea shops. It's enjoyed as a standalone snack or as a side dish with meals. The crispy exterior and soft, flavorful interior make it a beloved comfort food for many.Here is a recipe for dal wada. 

INGREDIENTS:

-1 cup chana dal(soaked for 4 to 5 hours) 
-2 to 3 green chillies chopped
-1 inch ginger grated
-1 small onion finely chopped
-2 to 3 garlic cloves ( optional) 
-corriendar finely chopped
-1 teaspoon jeera
-1 teaspoon corriendar powder
-salt to taste
-oil for deep frying

INSTRUCTIONS:

Firstly drain the soaked chana dal, keep 1 table spoon chana dal aside and put the remaining chana dal in a mixture and make a coarse paste without adding water
Now transfer this mixture to a bowl, add in all the ingredients mentioned above, mix well.do not add water. 
Now keep a frying pan Or kadhaai on medium flame, when the oil is heated take a small amount of mixture and roll it into a ball, with the help of your palm press it on the ball to make it flat like patties , repeat the process with the mixture 
Now slowly slide the patties in a hot oil, do not overcrowd, fry the dal wadas in batches, turning occasionally, until they turn golden brown and crispy from all the side. 
Once done remove the dal wadas using slotted spoon and drain them on a paper towels to remove excess oil. 
Serve the dal wadas with coconut chutney or any of your favorite dip.
